For writing I am researching about Yohan Blake. This terms theme is "Move ya body" and my class has been doing show don't tell this week. This presentation is about some athletes and we got to pick an athlete to write about and my athlete was Yohan Blake the reason why I picked him was because we couldn't pick Usain Bolt cause my teacher knew that we would know a lot of information about Usain Bolt.

This year was a roller coaster, being a year seven was different from being the other years, because when you are a year seven you have to show the younger kids that you can be a leader next year. 

One of my favourite thing I did this year is going to tech at Tamaki College. There are about 4 or 5 groups which are Hard Materials, Carving, Graphics and Cooking I have been in all the groups but not Carving but hopefully I do it next year.

This year I applied to be a house captain for 2018 for the house Te Aurere. If I get picked next year to be a house captain that would be awesome for me and my family. 

I get to show that I am a great role model for the little kids and that hopefully they would look up to me and be leader when they become a year 8.

Have you ever been wondering what's it like to be a senior in team 5?? Well I will tell you about my journey throughout this year. Being in team 5 you have to be the leaders at Point England School.

My time at Point England School in team 5 has been awesome because I have met lots of kind and encouraging students and teachers. Being in team 5 is the most hardest team to be in because you have lots of jobs to do around the school. One of my favourite terms has to be term 2 because when the year 8’s left to camp the year 7’s stayed at Point England School we did lots of fun activities it felt like the year 7’s were at a even better camp than the year 8's.

I have been at Point England School for about 4 years, nearly almost everyone started Point England School at 5 years old, but I came to Point England School when I was a year 3 it was like an adventure because I was in a class with year 4 students, it was like being in a class with my older siblings it was so decorated and in the room had lots of different colours, my teacher was beautiful her name was Mrs Nalder and she was an amazing teacher. She teaches me different kinds of awesome things. Then I came up to year 7 which took so long.

Team 5 is the oldest team at Point England School we are older than all the other teams so that makes us the leaders for Point England School. At team 5 there are different unique students they have there own talent which is so amazing. Being in team 5 we start school at 8:30, we also wear different kinds of uniform such as culottes and a black hat we sit on chairs at assembly which is an so amazing.

It is an honour to be in team 5 because I have lots of different kinds of teachers who help me learn and I have friends who are supportive and friendly it’s my second to last year at Point England School and being in team 5. It was the longest journey I have been in, this school was a bit different from all the schools I have been to. But sooner or later everyone will leave this awesome school. Point England School is the best school I have been to!!!

Speech Finals

On Friday the 25th of August at 12:00 team 5 all went to go sit down on the streets, we were getting ready to hear the speech finalist competition, there were about 13 competitor who attended the finals, it was a mix of girls and boys. 


The first person to say there speech was Amelia, her speech was about her pass with her grandma working at her old school Riverina Primary School, she was talking about her grandma smiling while cleaning stinky toilets but when she passed away she really knew why she was smiling she was smiling because she saw her and and her little sister Monika. What I liked about this speech was she was talking about her life and at the end she said " My grandma was smiling because she saw her beautiful cheeky granddaughter". 



My favourite speech was Lotu because her speech was so interesting because she was talking about having a simple life, two of my favourite quotes that she said is " Find good people and leave the bad ones" and "Live, Laugh and Love because you only come around once. She had a great hook that said " People do alot of dumb things when they hit the age 12 and over. 

All these speeches were so interesting one or two of them will say there speech at assembly.

Today we were learning about Technological process, We made a jelly bean tooth pick structure. First we brained stormed what we were going to do. Then we research the best way to build a jelly bean tooth pick structure. After that we Plan/Design what will it look like, we also created it and we presented it to my class. When we tested our structure it could only hold up two books. What will I change about my structure? I would have made it stronger or longer. I really want to try this and hope you try it. After the contest we got to eat our jelly beans.

The clue belongs to Jack he was the last one who had the magic beans. Finally as we found Jack he said he didn’t do it. We were trying to find the Giant's body. But we have found security footage plugged into a house nearby. In the footage we only can see that the giant was pushed from his house high above.

We do not know who pushed the Giant.

My Year Of Being A Year 7

This year is a fun year because when I am a year 7 means I can be friends with new people who are year 8’s. In team 5 it is way different from the other classes I have been in.

Firstly what is different from the other classes is that when go to Tamaki College for Tech in tech there about 4 groups which are called: Hard Materials, Carving, Graphics, and Cooking. This term I am in graphics, in graphics we draw, make 3-D object. We do everything that include shapes and colours.

Secondly It is different because every Friday after lunch we have a game of sports we compete with other classes in Team 5 for the past few weeks I have played only Tag and Cricket we play these sports because we have to show teamwork and leadership and to be a role model to the younger kids.

Lastly another reason is we have to be at school at 8:30am and have to be at the streets we have an assembly. While the other kids are outside playing we are inside the streets having our own assembly. In the assembly we talk about what we will be doing today and some notes to remember, while we are in classes one of the notes we always use is be flexible which means to be normal and to respect everyone in your class.

One of my goals in team 5 will have to be getting better grades than last year and to be a great role model to the little kids.

In this explanation writing I am writing about what makes a good friend. A good friend is trustworthy, Loyal, and caring.

Trustworthy Friends.

Trustworthy friends are people who are can trust each other and be worthy. How do you know when you want to trust your friend? If you have a friend you have to trust them because she/he have to know you like them as friend.

Loyal Friends.

Loyal friends is someone who supports you in everything. For Example: If you fall down when you are playing a game and they are on the side line they will just cheer you on.  

Caring Friends.

Caring friends is someone who cares about you. For Example: If someone hurt your feeling they will try to cheer you up but doing a funny face or dancing weirdly. Also if you hurt your self your friend will take you to the nurse’s office/sickbay.

Friends are a really good thing to have in your life because you can talk to them about anything.

On Our Way To Poly Fest

Have you ever been to Poly fest before? Well Team 5 went on a long trip to Poly Fest.

Our trip yesterday was for our education and people who are shy about there culture get an opportunity to make them feel confident. Also we when there to know more about their cultures and to understand more. Poly Fest is a good festival to go to because you get to learn about cultures you didn’t know about also you get free stuff and some of the stalls you win stuff.

When we got out of the bus there were other schools lining up it was so crowded I couldn’t go through any one then when we finally made it past the long line we went to sit down and we sang some songs. After that long wait we went to some stalls the first one my group went to was the digital poi. We had to go in groups of five in the digital poi. A digital poi is something that is a poi and it lights up and it is really cool. Team 5 got free bags, glasses, fans and a poster from the ASB truck which made us feel amazing.

I think it is important for students who participate because they need to learn what their cultures is about and what is means they also have to be confident about their culture. What i think is amazing about students performing in the polyfest is they get perform and show people this is what their culture is and this is how it works. They also get to show off their dance skills.

I have explained about what is important for student who participated in the polyfest. Also I explained what is fun about polyfest. If I had a chance to go there I would definitely go there with my family.

Title	How to have a fun weekend
Introduction	In this writing I am going to talk to you about things you can do to have a fun weekend.
Information 1st element	First idea to have fun weekend is: go hang out with your friends. Things to do with your friends, If it is a hot day you can have a water squirt. If it is a rainy day you can plan a sleepover or play board games like: Jenga, Monopoly, Puzzles, or play card games. When you have a sleepover you can have a midnight feast which is you wake up until midnight which is 12:00 am and you sneak into the kitchen and grab all the junk food in the fridge and cupboards and you run to your room and you eat som of the junk food and your mum or dad will come into the room staring at you eating all the food.
Information 2nd element	Another Idea to have fun on the weekend is to spend time with your family, you could have a BBQ with your whole family and you can get together and meet one another. You could all go to watch a movie together and have popcorn and drinks. Or you could go to do the swimming and bring cake or cupcakes and after your swim you can have a big feast with cakes and cupcakes.  Your family could also have fancy dinner and go to restaurants like Valentines or go Burger King, McDonald, KFC, or you could go to great tongs and you could have sweet and sour with is pork with this yum red sauce.
Information 3rd element	Last Idea to have fun on the weekends is you could spend time with next door neighbour because you have to know something about the person living next to you, the person at the back of I know her because we just meet and we talked about a lot of stuff and then they moved to my school Pt England and he name is Amelia she is a year 8. So you should talk with your next door neighbour and then you play with them a lot then you will be so used to them you might even have sleep overs or you will give her/he a invitation to you birthday party or take he/her to a trip to the zoo, rainbow end, parakai, or something that you both like. You could also take them to a game of netball if it is a girl but if it is a boy you could take him to a game of rugby, or basketball.
Conclusion	So to have fun weekend is  to spend time with people you love and people you want to be friends with. Spend time with people you don't know but you might know a little something about them.

I deiced to choose Diary of a Wimpy Kid because I love there books. I always read this book when I was 7-9 years old but when I was seven my sister or parents will read it to me. It is about his personal life. I have even seen one of there movies, which was awesome.
